The first type of monoski is similar to a snowboard in that both feet are attached to one wide board. However, monoskiers ride with their feet parallel and facing directly forward, toward the tip of the board. Because of their width, monoskis are most commonly used for skiing in deep powder snow. The second type of monoski is used mainly by people with limited use of their legs, such as people with spinal cord injuries, spina bifida or double leg amputations. This type of monoski, also known as a sit-ski, is a molded seat mounted on a metal frame. A shock absorber beneath the seat absorbs uneven terrain and helps in turning. Modern monoskis interface with a single, ordinary alpine ski by means of a "ski foot," a metal or plastic block in the shape of a boot sole that clicks into the ski's binding. A monoskier uses outriggers for stability; an outrigger resembles a forearm crutch with a short ski on the bottom. |

There are several ways that points are scored: goal kicking, touching the ground over the opponents' goal line with the ball using the hands and/or arms, kicking the ball above the crossbar and between the uprights of a large 'H'-shaped set of posts.

Surf Boat Rowing: Surf boat is usually associated with Surf Life Saving Clubs. Surf boat crews are trained in life saving skills learn to be competent oarsman.
Surf boats are 4-oared vessels with pointed bows and sterns. The boat is steered by a sweep who stands in the bow and uses an oar-like rudder to control the boat. During competition surf crews start on the beach and row through the surf to then proceed to a certain number of turning points. Crews then race back to the beach. As the boat nears the beach, oars are raised and the boat is literally surfed ashore.

Telemark Skiing: Telemark skiing is skiing using the Telemark turn. It is also known as "free heel skiing." Telemark skis have a binding that only connects the boot to the ski at the toes, just as in cross-country skiing. Telemark turns are led with the heel flat on the outside ski, while the inside ski is pulled beneath the skier's body with a flexed knee and raised heel. The skis are staggered but parallel, and 50% to 80% of the body weight is distributed on the outer ski, depending on snow conditions.

For a goal to count, two wheels of the player's chair must cross the line while the player has possession of the ball.

In modern systems, wrestlers score points for various accomplishments including takedowns, reversals, escapes and near-falls. Besides winning a match by points, a wrestler can win at any time during a match by throwing his opponent on his back and keeping him there for a count of three, known as a pin.
